The World Bank has urgently dispatched expert teams to the frontlines of the Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and allocated emergency resources to combat the rampant epidemic. At the same time, the World Bank is working diligently to develop a large-scale financing plan to ensure that more funding for epidemic prevention can be quickly and accurately allocated. Monique Vledder, head of the World Bank's global health department, admitted that besides the crisis in the Congo, the World Bank is also extremely concerned about neighboring countries South Sudan and Burundi, whose medical emergency response systems are very fragile. Despite the relatively robust public health network in neighboring Uganda, which has already reported 2 confirmed cases, it also faces significant gaps in epidemic prevention funding. In the coming months, there will undoubtedly be a significant surge in demand for funding on the global frontlines of epidemic prevention.
