The second round of centralized procurement of coronary stents organized by the state was opened for bidding in Tianjin on the 20th. A total of 30 products from 15 companies participated in the bidding, with all bidding companies being selected. 27 products were awarded the pre-selected qualification, and mainstream products from domestic and foreign companies widely used in clinical practice were generally selected. Coronary stents are the first category of high-value medical consumables included in the national organized centralized procurement. A total of 4,468 medical institutions reported their demand this time, an increase of 86% from the 2,408 in the first round of procurement, and an increase of 23% from the 3,626 in the previous round of procurement. More medical institutions are performing stent implantation procedures, which will provide more precious time for the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction. It is reported that the annual procurement demand of medical institutions is approximately 2.73 million units, an increase of 155% from the 1.07 million in the first round of procurement, and an increase of 47% from the 1.86 million in the previous round of procurement. The selected products in the centralized procurement are increasingly recognized by clinical professionals.
