Recently, a Sushilang store in Hangzhou was fined over 60,000 yuan by the Xaoshan District Market Supervision Administration for selling cold processed pastries without a license, repeated violations of the special area management, and inadequate cleaning and disinfection of tableware. The penalty decision showed that law enforcement officers had inspected the hygiene of tableware at the store twice. During the first inspection, officers found a large amount of water stains and food residue on the aluminum trays used to serve prepared sashimi in the sashimi section. All 10 aluminum trays randomly inspected on site had the same issues. One month later, law enforcement officers revisited the store for a follow-up inspection and found that 6 out of 10 pieces of tableware to be used still had rice residue on the surface and were not properly washed. In response to this, the Sushilang store expressed to the media: "We take this matter very seriously and have already completed the necessary rectifications as required by the government regulatory authorities."
