A survey released by the German government on the 19th showed that, due to persistent high temperatures and drought, three-quarters of the most common tree species in the country's forests are in an "unhealthy" state by 2025. According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the annual survey evaluated over 46,000 trees at 1889 monitoring points in Germany, and found that the country's forests have not recovered from the extreme heat and drought disasters from 2018 to 2020 by 2025, with trees over 60 years old particularly affected.
