The first Korean super oil tanker attempts to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
A South Korean supertanker is currently attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and if successful, it will become the first large oil tanker of its kind from South Korea to complete the passage. Ship tracking data shows that the "Global Winner" loaded with Kuwaiti crude oil entered the waterway on Wednesday morning and is currently located south of Iran's Larak Island, which is the route approved by the Iranian authorities for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This super large crude oil tanker belongs to the South Korean Hyundai Merchant Marine group, with its destination marked as Ulsan, South Korea. Earlier this month, a cargo ship from the company was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, and currently, there has been no response from Hyundai Merchant Marine to email inquiries.
