The National Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief has initiated a national level four disaster relief emergency response to guide Hunan in carrying out flood disaster relief work effectively.

On May 20, the National Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief launched a national level four emergency response in response to the recent severe flooding disaster in Hunan Province. A working group was dispatched to the disaster area to assess the situation, provide guidance and assist the local authorities in ensuring the basic livelihoods of the affected population and carrying out disaster relief work.
