Shanghai is adding to its space computational power. The research and development work on the world's first light computing satellite has started.

On May 15th, the "Limitless Sky, Enlightening the Future" event on disruptive technology and future industry integration in space-based computing was held in Shanghai. At the event, Orientational Calculation and Photonic Computing announced the establishment of the Space-based Photonic Computing Innovation Center, and simultaneously launched the joint development of the world's first space-based photonic computing payload. This move is seen as a key industrial layout in Shanghai's bet on the space computing race.
