According to Barron's Weekly, the charity foundation owned by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates no longer holds Microsoft (MSFT.O) stocks. The Gates Foundation Trust, the donation fund of the charity organization, disclosed on Friday that it has sold the remaining 7.7 million shares of Microsoft stock, which are valued at $3.2 billion based on the current stock price. This sale aligns with Bill Gates' recent charitable planning direction. He announced last year that he will gradually end the operations of the foundation over the next 20 years and during this period, all assets will be fully invested in charitable purposes rather than permanently retaining the size of the fund. According to FactSet data, Bill Gates personally still holds 103 million shares of Microsoft stock valued at $43 billion.
