The Federal Aviation Administration has approved the resumption of operation of the McDonnell Douglas 11 cargo aircraft.
On May 11th, local time, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States approved Boeing's plan to resume operations of the MD-11 cargo aircraft. On November 4, 2025, a MD-11 cargo plane operated by United Parcel Service crashed and caught fire in Louisville, Kentucky, resulting in at least 14 deaths. The operation of this aircraft type was then investigated and restricted. This approval by the FAA means that the related aircraft type can gradually resume service.
