Satellite images show a suspected second attack on a Russian oil pipeline pump station in the hinterland, causing it to catch fire.
Satellite images from the NASA Fire Information for Resource Management System show a new heat source in the area of the Perm Pump Station, located approximately 1500 kilometers east of Moscow, Russia, indicating a possible fire. The facility has been targeted by Ukrainian long-range drones at least twice at the end of April. The pump station is part of the Russian main oil pipeline network, responsible for transporting crude oil from Western Siberia to central Russia. Considering the location of the pump station and the complexity of the Russian pipeline network, this event is unlikely to affect the transportation of oil towards the western border of Russia. The Governor of the Perm Territory in the statement mentioned an undisclosed industrial facility being attacked by drones. The Russian state-owned oil pipeline operator, The Russian Oil Pipeline Transport Company, has not responded to requests for comments. As of now, Ukrainian military officials have not made any declarations regarding attacks on the pump station.
