According to the presidential decree signed by Mali's transitional President Goita on the 4th, Goita was appointed Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs. According to another presidential decree signed on the same day, Omar Diarra was appointed as a representative of the Minister of Defense. Diarra previously served as the Chief of Staff of the Malian Armed Forces.
