Due to demand-driven inventory shortages and tight processor supply for artificial intelligence, Apple has raised the starting price of its Mac mini desktop computer from $599 to $799. The company has discontinued the entry-level configuration with the M4 processor and 256GB storage space; the computer's current starting configuration still has the same chip, but with storage increased to 512GB. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the shortages are related to the supply capabilities of system-level chips, and demand for Mac mini and Mac Studio for running artificial intelligence is higher than expected.
