The State Council Office for Safety Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a national safety prevention video conference on the afternoon of April 27. The meeting emphasized the importance of strict public safety risk management. It called for strengthening fire safety inspections in densely populated areas such as large comprehensive complexes, restaurants, accommodations, tourist attractions, cultural and entertainment venues, nursing homes, ancient towns, villages, and historic buildings, increasing the frequency of patrols on key roads, conducting comprehensive searches for safety hazards in high-risk projects in tourist areas, and tightly implementing precautionary measures. Attention should be focused on major risks in high-risk industries, with a particular emphasis on implementing measures to prevent and control gas accumulation, roof collapses, water hazards, and fires in mines, cracking down on violations, strictly implementing the responsibility of safeguarding major hazardous sources of hazardous chemicals, strengthening management of special operations, conducting a comprehensive crackdown on illegal activities in the entire fireworks and firecrackers industry, promoting the implementation of safety regulations for limited space operations at the front end, strengthening safety supervision of bridge, tunnel, hydropower projects, and strictly preventing accidents caused by illegal transportation of passengers by trucks and agricultural vehicles.
