Ship stranded, temporarily interrupting traffic in the Bosporus Strait in Turkey.
On the early morning of April 28th local time, a container ship flying the Turkish flag experienced a malfunction and lost control in the waters near the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey. It eventually ran aground just a few meters from the shore, narrowly avoiding hitting coastal buildings. As a result, maritime traffic in the strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions, and rescue operations are still ongoing. The ship involved is reported to be approximately 148 meters long, 24 meters wide, and was carrying containers destined for the Kocaeli province in northwestern Turkey. Following the incident, Turkish police and the Coast Guard quickly dispatched rescue teams to the scene for containment. Currently, there have been no reports of casualties.
