The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today that the Immigration Department expects approximately 6 million people to enter and leave Hong Kong through various land, sea, and air control points during the Mainland China Labour Day holiday. After negotiations with mainland departments such as the Immigration Department and the Shenzhen Immigration Inspection General Station, it is estimated that about 5 million people will enter and leave Hong Kong through various land border control points. The peak period for land departures is expected to be on May 2nd, with an estimated 636,000 departures, while the peak period for arrivals is expected to be on May 3rd, with an estimated 688,000 arrivals.
