Business and trade professionals in China call for promoting trade diversification to promote prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

The second meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council in 2026 opened in Mexico City on the 23rd. Economic and trade officials from Mexico and China stated that dialogue and exchange between the Asia-Pacific business community should be strengthened, in order to promote trade diversification and regional integration, and to promote shared prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. During the event, Mexico's Deputy Minister of Economy Luis Rosendo Gutirrez stated that the Asia-Pacific region still faces challenges in building resilient supply chains and promoting trade diversification. Mexico is expanding new space for diversified exports and hopes to further expand exports to APEC economies, strengthening regional cooperation.
