Nomura research analysts stated in a report that the market will focus on the Bank of England's meeting next week to understand policymakers' views on inflation and growth prospects amidst the Middle East war. These analysts suggest that the Monetary Policy Committee is expected to "update the market on its response mechanism to the US-Iran war." They believe that MPC members should clarify their views on the risks posed to the country's economy and inflation by high energy prices. Data from the London Stock Exchange Group shows that market prices reflect investors' belief that the likelihood of the Bank of England maintaining interest rates at 3.75% during the meeting is 85%, while the possibility of raising rates by 25 basis points to 4.0% is only 15%.
