The 50th Chairperson Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Beijing on the 24th. Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting conveyed and studied the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Wang Huning said that it is necessary to deeply study and implement the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the development of the service industry, focus on the goals and tasks of developing the service industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, organize consultations and discussions, inspections and research, special studies, etc., and put forward practical and effective opinions and suggestions. It is necessary to deeply study and implement the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping when participating in the voluntary tree planting activity in the capital, organize CPPCC members to conduct investigations and studies on major issues related to ecological civilization construction, and carry out popular science activities on ecological environment protection in the course of fulfilling the duty of CPPCC members serving the people to contribute to the construction of a beautiful China. It is necessary to deeply study and implement the important speech spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the development of cross-strait relations on April 10, and implement the overall strategy of the Party in resolving Taiwan issues in the new era, giving full play to the role of the CPPCC as the broadest patriotic united front organization, to widely rally people and resources to promote peaceful development of cross-strait relations and advance the great cause of national reunification. The meeting deliberated and approved the agenda and schedule of the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, and decided to hold the meeting in Beijing in late June. Vice Chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee, Baatar, Chen Wu, Jiang Zuojun, and He Baoxiang, made speeches on studying and implementing the recent important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping. Members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee, Shi Taifeng, Hu Chunhua, Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Zhou Qiang, He Huohua, Leung Chun-ying, Su Hui, Shao Hong, Gao Yunlong, Mu Hong, Xian Hui, Wang Dongfeng, Jiang Xinzhi, Wang Guangqian, Zhu Yongxin, and Yang Zhen attended the meeting.
