The situation of natural disasters in the first quarter of 2026 is released nationwide, with direct economic losses reaching 10.41 billion yuan.
Recently, the Office of the National Committee for Disaster Reduction and Relief, together with the Ministry of Emergency Management and relevant member units, conducted a consultation and analysis of the natural disaster situation in the first quarter of 2026. In the first quarter, natural disasters in China were mainly characterized by low temperature, rain, snow, ice, freezing and snow disasters, wind and hail disasters, and earthquake disasters, with varying degrees of occurrences of geological disasters, drought disasters, flood disasters, biological disasters, and forest fires. According to preliminary statistics, various natural disasters have caused 750,800 people to be affected to varying degrees, with 6 deaths or missing persons, emergency relocation and assistance needed for more than 8,200 people, over 30 collapsed households and more than 90 rooms, over 4,700 damaged households and 12,000 rooms, 48.4 thousand hectares of affected crops, and direct economic losses of 1.041 billion yuan.
