Ministry of Commerce: China will take measures if Chinese companies face discriminatory treatment due to the EU's revision of the "Cybersecurity Law".
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, He Yongqian, stated at a routine press conference on the 23rd that the Ministry of Commerce had formally submitted comments on the draft revision of the EU's "Network Security Law" to the European Commission on April 17, expressing China's official position and serious concerns. China hopes that the EU will highly value and carefully consider the comments and suggestions submitted by China. If Chinese companies are subjected to discriminatory treatment as a result, China can take measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises in accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and the provisions of the State Council on the security of industrial and supply chains. At the same time, China believes that cooperation and dialogue are the correct way to solve Sino-European issues, and is willing to negotiate and properly address differences with the EU to jointly maintain the stability and smooth operation of the global production and supply chain.
