Nestl responds to the recall of infant formula: The relevant recall work has been completed and the supply of the products has returned to normal.
On April 23, Nestl Group disclosed in their financial report that in January 2026, Nestl initiated a preventive recall of certain batches of infant formula worldwide after detecting the presence of Bacillus cereus vomiting toxin. The issue was caused by raw materials provided by a global industry supplier. The recall work has been completed in the first quarter, and the company is currently focusing on replenishing inventory to ensure that parents can timely access the products they need. Product supply has returned to normal. In the first quarter of 2026, the overall impact of the infant formula recall event on the organic growth rate was approximately -90 basis points, with about half of the impact coming from sales returns, temporary shortages, and subsequent replenishment, while the other half was due to consumer demand. The company has already seen initial signs of improvement and expects to fully recover by the end of this year.
