On April 23, TikTok officially released a special governance announcement on "AI-generated inappropriate content and infringement of others' rights." As of now, over 538,000 AI-infringing videos have been taken down, and more than 4,000 violating accounts have been punished. The platform has also clarified key areas for rectification and long-term control measures. The platform will focus on dealing with typical violations such as using AI technology for face-swapping, voice theft, generating content to impersonate others, and riding on the popularity of others. The responsible person from TikTok also stated that the platform will continue to invest in improving its governance capabilities, but it needs to be acknowledged that the industry still faces challenges such as difficulty in judging AI-generated content and insufficient AI voice recognition capabilities.
