South Korean SK Hynix announced a 406% increase in quarterly profit on Thursday due to strong demand for advanced and traditional storage chip products driven by the artificial intelligence boom. The NVIDIA supplier reported an operating profit of 3.76 trillion won ($25.4 billion) for the January to March period, higher than the 740 billion won in the same period last year and in line with analysts' expectations of 3.79 trillion won.
