The Shanghai Bureau of Statistics released data showing that in the first quarter, the output value of the three leading industries in the manufacturing sector of the city increased by 16.1% year-on-year, with growth surpassing the city's industrial average by 10.5 percentage points. Among them, the output value of the integrated circuit manufacturing industry increased by 21.3% benefiting from the continuous release of advanced process capacity and the accelerated localization process of key materials and equipment. The output value of the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry increased by 9.6% benefiting from breakthroughs in frontiers such as cell and gene therapy, and high-end medical devices, with the output values of therapeutic biologics and medical imaging equipment growing by 19.6% and 16.9% respectively. The output value of the artificial intelligence manufacturing industry increased by 19.2%.
