The vaccination rate of eligible children in our country's national immunization program has consistently been maintained at over 90%.
The National Health Commission held a press conference today, and the spokesperson, Xi Jingjing, introduced that in three days, on April 25th, it will be the 40th "National Children's Vaccination Day". It can be said that vaccination is the most economical and effective means of preventing, controlling diseases, and protecting public health.
For a long time, China has combined the new situation and challenges of infectious disease prevention and control, promoted the construction of a full-life cycle vaccine protection system, continuously optimized and adjusted national immunization planning strategies, continuously refined convenient and beneficial services measures, improved the quality of vaccination work, and promoted moving the front line of disease prevention and control.
By 2025, China will include the human papillomavirus vaccine in the national immunization plan, and by 2026 it will be included in the health system's service projects for the people, providing free, intimate, and reassuring vaccination services for eligible girls. Over the years, the national immunization plan vaccination rate for eligible children in China has consistently remained above 90%, and the incidence rates of various vaccines for infectious diseases such as measles, rubella, meningitis, hepatitis B, etc. have been reduced to historically low levels, achieving the goal of eliminating neonatal tetanus. China's wisdom of "preventing trouble before it happens" has safeguarded the lives and health of millions of families.
