Bank of America: The Japanese stock market may consolidate sideways in the near future.
Bank of America Securities analysts said in a report that investors are taking a wait-and-see approach, leading to the possibility of sideways consolidation in the Japanese stock market before gradually rising towards the end of the year. The analysts wrote that due to the ongoing unrest in the Middle East, companies may release weak outlooks when announcing their fiscal year performance. They added that even if the performance is better than expected, historically the market has consolidated sideways after such announcements. The analysts noted that based on the tariff events last year, the Japanese stock market showed a "staggered" rise after negative factors affecting profits were confirmed in the first and second fiscal quarters.
