The 2026 China Performance Trading Fair opened today in Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. At the opening ceremony, the China Performing Arts Industry Association released several national performance market data for 2025. It was estimated that the total revenue of the national performance market in 2025 was 83.722 billion yuan, an increase of 5.19% over the previous year. The box office revenue was 61.655 billion yuan, an increase of 6.39% year-on-year; other revenue was 22.067 billion yuan, an increase of 1.98% year-on-year. The total number of commercial performances nationwide was 640,400, an increase of 6.58% from the 2024 figure on a comparable basis; and the number of audience members was 194 million, an increase of 4.22% year-on-year.
