Netherlands introduces relief plan to address soaring energy prices.
The Dutch government launched a comprehensive relief plan totaling approximately 1 billion euros on the 20th, to alleviate the pressure brought by high energy prices on the people and businesses. The Dutch government said in a statement that the plan includes 627 million euros in fiscal spending measures and 340 million euros in specific expense reduction measures. The statement also said that the Dutch government encourages the development of new energy vehicles, urges the public to use public transportation for travel, and supports energy-saving renovations for businesses. Additionally, the statement pointed out that although the Netherlands has not yet experienced severe energy shortages, in order to better cope with potential supply interruptions, the Netherlands has decided to launch the first phase of the oil crisis response plan, which includes strengthening monitoring of the energy market, maintaining close communication with businesses and social groups, and preparing for subsequent response measures.
