National procuratorial organs throughout the country have brought charges against more than 19,000 individuals for intellectual property rights infringement crimes starting from the year 2025.

On April 21, the Supreme People's Procuratorate released the "White Paper on Intellectual Property Prosecution Work" and for the first time launched an English version on the English website of the Supreme People's Procuratorate. The White Paper comprehensively showcased the active results of national prosecutorial agencies in serving the country's innovation-driven development strategy, creating a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, ruled by law, and internationalized, and contributing prosecutorial strength to the successful conclusion of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and high-quality economic and social development. The White Paper provides a comprehensive overview of the basic situation of prosecutorial agencies performing their prosecutorial functions in criminal, civil, administrative, and public interest litigation related to intellectual property law by 2025. It is reported that by 2025, prosecutorial agencies at all levels will comprehensively and accurately implement the policy of balancing severity with leniency in criminal cases, legally punishing intellectual property crimes, handling and prosecuting 11,341 cases involving 25,160 individuals, prosecuting 9,135 cases involving 19,102 individuals, and deciding not to prosecute 5,105 individuals. In addition, national prosecutorial agencies also handled 1,251 civil prosecution cases related to intellectual property, 1,795 administrative prosecution cases related to intellectual property, accepted 741 clues related to public interest litigation in the field of intellectual property, and filed 612 cases.
