Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms: Cuba holds meeting with US delegation
On April 20th local time, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Torres confirmed that officials from the United States and Cuba recently met in Havana. Torres stated, "This is a sensitive issue, as we have mentioned before, we are handling this matter with caution." However, he also confirmed, "There was indeed a meeting between a Cuban and US delegation in Cuba recently. The US delegation consisted of officials at the level of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, while the Cuban side was represented by officials at the level of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs." Torres emphasized that in this meeting, both sides did not set any deadlines or make any mandatory requests, and the entire exchange took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism. He also pointed out, "The lifting of the energy blockade on our country is the top priority topic for our delegation to discuss," and described this blockade as a form of "global blackmail on a sovereign country."
