Samsung Electronics and LG Innotek have initiated testing to achieve CPO on semiconductor substrates.

Samsung Electronics and LG Innotek have started a collaboration to evaluate prototype components needed to achieve CPO on semiconductor substrates. The two companies are expected to integrate various components on the semiconductor substrate in order to enable the final packaged semiconductor product to have CPO functionality. Key components include electro-optical switches, transceivers, and optical interconnect components such as optical cables and waveguides.
