Why make humanoid robots run marathons?
The problems exposed in the competition are the most real, and the directions found for iteration are also the most accurate. A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology said that the robot half marathon is not simply a matter of fast or slow speed, strong or weak capabilities, but more of a comprehensive evaluation of innovative achievements and scenario applications, reflecting the spirit of "faster, higher, stronger - more united" in the process of industrial development.
"Humanoid robots have not yet been truly commercialized, and it is difficult for robots to have different demands like joint heat dissipation and endurance capabilities as in the case of new energy vehicles." Shao Yuanxin, founder and COO of the domestic integrated joint enterprise Lingzu Epoch, believes that the competition is like setting a standard for robots. He gives an example that in the past, robot companies had unrealistic demands for joint suppliers, but now they have clear indicators for everyone to break through. For example, the joint lifespan has been at least doubled or tripled in the past year.
Last year, star athletes in the half marathon have also transitioned from "being able to run" to "being able to work". Long-distance complex road surface passage technology quickly turned into products and entered the market after the competition. The "Tiangong" robot successfully took up the outdoor distribution station inspection post at State Grid Sichuan Company last year. The Galaxy Universal Gaibote robot, which won the championship in the pharmaceutical sorting scene competition after the humanoid robot movement competition in August last year, has also been widely deployed in unmanned pharmacies and unmanned retail sectors.
