On April 19th at 7:30 in the morning, the half marathon in Beijing's Yizhuang district started with a gunshot. Over 300 humanoid robots and 12,000 human participants rushed out from the starting line, heading towards the 21 kilometer race course. Near the second turn not far from the starting point, a special "traffic police officer" was making the standard left turn gesture - it wasn't a real human police officer, but Beijing's first on-duty traffic police robot named "Tianyi". The reporter on the scene saw "Tianyi" dressed in fluorescent green traffic police uniform, standing upright, repeatedly making the standard left turn guiding gestures with its left arm, and simultaneously issuing voice commands. Unlike human traffic police officers, its command target was very clear: only targeting robot participants throughout the race. Whenever various humanoid robot formations passed the intersection, "Tianyi"'s gestures and voice commands were accurately transmitted, and the robot participants turned direction orderly according to the instructions; while human runners were not disturbed and proceeded normally along the race course. Sui Hongda, a police officer from the Development Zone Traffic Control Brigade, introduced that "Tianyi" is a locally developed product in Beijing, and is in the same series as the 2025 Yizhuang Robot Marathon champion "Tiangu". It was jointly developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the Yizhuang Robot Company based on actual traffic management. Its appearance in the half marathon race course with dense robot participants aimed to test the collaborative ability in the specific scenario of "robots commanding robots".
