Regarding the implementation of the new national standard and whether hidden door handles are compliant, NIO responded that all models currently on sale can be used normally with hidden door handles and are completely compliant. The mandatory national standard "Technical Requirements for Vehicle Door Handle Safety" will officially be released on February 2, 2026, and will gradually take effect for new models from January 2027 to January 2028, and for existing models (including facelifted models) from January 2029. The implementation time requirement for the "prohibition of hidden handles" in the new national standard is that all new models announced before December 31, 2027 can use hidden handles, and existing models or facelifted models produced before December 31, 2028 can also use hidden handles. NIO has been deeply involved in the entire process of developing the new national standard with relevant departments, always prioritizing user safety. They strongly support the standardized management of handles inside and outside the vehicle and continuously constrain themselves with requirements higher than industry standards.
