Hungarian Jobbik Party leader: "Friendship" oil pipeline may resume oil transportation next week.
Peter Mijatovic, the newly elected Prime Minister of Hungary and leader of the Fidesz party, quoted the head of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Limited Company as saying that after several months of interruption, the Russian oil being transported to Hungary through the "Friendship" pipeline may resume next week. Mijatovic told reporters on Friday that the company head informed him that oil shipments would resume and that he will visit Russia next week to discuss oil supply issues. Mijatovic said, "Just restarting the pipeline is not enough, it also needs to have oil transportation." The pipeline that transports Russian oil to Central Europe through Ukraine has been out of operation since it was damaged by a Russian drone attack in January.
