European airline fuel costs have been on the rise, prompting Lufthansa to ground dozens of old aircraft.

Affected by the rising cost of aviation fuel and the ongoing wave of strikes, Lufthansa Group of Germany announced on the 18th to suspend the operations of 27 old regional aircraft of its subsidiary Lufthansa CityLine and terminate all its aviation operations by the end of the year in order to reduce losses.
