Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng: Indiana must choose the right direction, seize opportunities, and join hands with China to create a better future.

On April 14th, during his visit to the state of Indiana in the Midwest United States, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng was invited to give a speech at a roundtable meeting with the business community in Indiana. He pointed out that working together with China to create a future is a wise choice for the prosperity of Indiana. Xie Feng said he was very happy to visit the beautiful state of Indiana again after more than 20 years. With the unremitting efforts of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, the Indiana Business CEO Partnerships organization, and industry leaders, Indiana is embarking on a new journey under the "Indiana Prosperity 2035" plan. The Chinese people have a deep understanding of the importance of continuous efforts and following through with plans. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, we have grown from a poor agricultural country to the world's second-largest economy through the implementation of 14 consecutive "Five-Year Plans", with GDP increasing from around $26 billion in 1952 to around $20 trillion in 2025. Recently, China successfully held the National People's Congress and approved the "15th Five-Year Plan", outlining not only a blueprint for a happy future for China from 2026 to 2030 but also creating new historical opportunities for cooperation between China and the world. Xie Feng mentioned that Indiana has a long history of friendly cooperation with China and a solid foundation. Looking to the future, there is great potential for practical cooperation in various fields between the two sides. He hopes that both parties can strengthen cooperation in advantageous industries, utilize important platforms effectively, make use of friendly provincial channels, strengthen cultural exchanges, and create a fair competition environment. Xie Feng also mentioned that Indiana is known as the "crossroads of America", with its convenient location and strategic advantages. It is important to choose the right direction and seize opportunities. The opportunities in China and the prosperity of Indiana can be fully aligned. He looks forward to everyone becoming promoters of local cooperation between China and the United States, practitioners of mutual benefit, and seeders of friendship between the people, driving away cold spells with warm currents, breaking through barriers with openness, fostering hope with trust, and reaping harvest with cooperation.
