According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Zizhong County, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province at 9:43 am on April 15, 2026, with a depth of 9 kilometers. After the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly initiated a level four emergency response. Wang Kun, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the China Earthquake Administration, immediately deployed emergency response work and held a video conference with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Sichuan Province Earthquake Administration, requesting relevant units to conduct rolling joint consultations, strengthen earthquake monitoring and tracking, enhance anomaly verification, understand the local social situation, and promptly report relevant information. Currently, the Sichuan Province Earthquake Administration has dispatched a field work team to the earthquake-affected area to assist the local government in emergency response work.
