An American official said on Tuesday that a US destroyer intercepted two oil tankers trying to leave Iran and demanded that the two tankers turn back. The blockade measures implemented by Trump the day before had already taken effect. The official stated that the two oil tankers were contacted via radio while departing from the port of Chabahar in the Gulf of Oman. It is currently unclear if any further warnings were issued. These two oil tankers are among the six commercial ships mentioned earlier in a statement by US Central Command, which stated that these ships had been ordered to "turn back to a port in Iran in the Gulf of Oman". US Central Command stated that since the blockade operation began at 10:00 AM Washington time on Monday, no ships have successfully crossed the blockade line.
