Optical communication enters a sustainable prosperity cycle, opening up growth opportunities in various links of the industry chain.
Recently, the leading US optical communication company Lumentum stated that the demand for its optical communication components from giant AI data centers in the US is accelerating, and the company expects to sell out its 2028 production capacity within two quarters. This company, which has received investments from Nvidia, has seen its stock price increase by over 150% in the past year. The company is expanding its production capacity as quickly as possible, but still struggles to meet the demand. Some research institutions believe that 2026 will be a big year for AI optical interconnection, with both 800G and 1.6T optical modules driving growth, as well as new technologies like CPO, NPO, and OCS flourishing. Optical interconnection will continue to penetrate the computing power connection segment, benefiting various players in the industry chain and opening up greater growth opportunities in the coming years. The performance of A-share listed companies in related fields in 2025 also confirms this trend. Data from Choice shows that, as of April 14th, out of 81 companies in the optical communication module concept sector, 43 have disclosed their 2025 annual reports or performance reports, with 36 achieving revenue growth and 32 achieving net profit growth compared to the previous year.
