Broadcom announced an expansion of its partnership with Meta, and President and CEO Chen Fuyang will transition to serving as a consultant for Meta.
On April 14th local time, Broadcom and Meta announced a multi-year, multi-generational strategic partnership to support Meta's rapidly expanding artificial intelligence computing infrastructure. Building upon their existing collaboration, Broadcom will provide technical support for training and inference accelerator chips for Meta, with plans for the partnership to extend until 2029. This technology will serve as the foundational infrastructure for Meta's deployment of cutting-edge AI data centers. The initial phase of the partnership will exceed 1 gigawatt. Due to the scale of this expanded partnership, Chen Fuyang will step down from the Meta board and transition to an advisory role for Meta, where he will provide guidance on Meta's custom chip roadmap.
