On the afternoon of April 11th local time, this morning Beijing time, US President Trump told the media before leaving the White House that negotiations between the US and Iran in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad may or may not reach an agreement, but it doesn't matter to him because "we win no matter what happens." In response to a reporter from NBC at the scene saying that Iran ignored their threat about opening the Strait of Hormuz, Trump called it "fake news." Earlier that day, the US Central Command posted on social media that two US missile destroyers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz and were operating in the Persian Gulf to thoroughly clear Iranian-laid mines. Iran, on the other hand, firmly denied the claims that US ships were approaching or entering the Strait of Hormuz, saying that the transit rights of any vessels in this waterway were entirely under the control of the Iranian armed forces.
