On the 11th, at the site of the cross-Yangtze River line operation of the 500 kV transmission and transformation project of Banan Xinyu in Chongqing, State Grid Chongqing Power for the first time innovatively applied a heavy-duty unmanned aerial vehicle carrying a four-segment thrower to cross the Yangtze River smoothly. The span of this cross-Yangtze River line is 1423 meters, the width of the river is 686 meters, the water flow is rapid, the shipping lane is busy, and the wind speed is usually at 3 to 5 levels. In the past, the time for the drone to hover was longer, and high-altitude personnel manually untied the guide rope. This time, with the four-segment thrower, it only takes tens of seconds to automatically complete the throw after flying to the airspace above the tower base, greatly reducing the risk of gust disturbance and improving safety and operational efficiency.
