The annual construction conference of the Guangdong Water Resource Allocation Project in the Beibu Gulf was held in Gaozhou, Guangdong on April 10th. According to reports from the conference, the total investment in this major national water conservancy project has reached 20 billion RMB, accounting for 30% of the total investment, with over 10,000 construction workers working hard along the route, and the construction speed of the project has been significantly accelerated. The Guangdong Water Resource Allocation Project in the Beibu Gulf has a total length of 490 kilometers and a total investment of 61.45 billion RMB, pumping water from the main stream of the Xijiang River in Yunfu to Leizhou Peninsula, providing water to the western regions of Guangdong including Yunfu, Yangjiang, Maoming, and Zhanjiang, covering a population of over 18 million.
