The fluctuation of crude oil futures prices is not significant, as traders are about to enter the weekend and the US and Iran are planning to hold talks, which may determine whether the ceasefire in the Middle East can continue. Scott Shelton of TP ICAP said, "Traders have basically withdrawn from the market, and the $7 fluctuation seen yesterday seems to have occurred with very few human traders involved. All they are doing is hedging or clearing positions to further reduce risk exposure." He also said, "Perhaps after this weekend we will have a clearer understanding of whether the differences between Iran and the US are too great to reach an agreement."
