Bernstein: About 1.7 million bitcoins face the threat of quantum computing.

Bernstein stated that approximately 1.7 million bitcoins are locked in outdated P2PK scripts. Due to their public keys being directly exposed on the blockchain, these assets are at risk of permanent quantum attacks. The frequent reuse of addresses further magnifies the risk exposure, with the threatened assets accounting for approximately 6.9% of the total bitcoin supply.
