Japan has decided to release oil reserves again.
According to reports by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation and other media today, the Japanese government will launch a second round of oil reserve release in early May, releasing oil reserves that can meet the demand for 20 days. Due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the Japanese government started releasing a total of about 80 million barrels of oil reserves on March 16, equivalent to 45 days of Japan's oil supply needs and the largest release since the establishment of the national oil reserve system in Japan in 1978. Due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East in recent times, Japan's supply of oil and other fossil fuels is facing difficulties. Japanese scholars have stated that the oil supply issue may lead to further price increases domestically in Japan.
