Hong Kong's largest public hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, will gradually begin providing services in the second half of this year.

A spokesperson for the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong announced today that the new emergency hospital in the Kai Tak Development Area will begin phased operation in October this year and will officially be named "Kai Tak Hospital". Once fully operational, Kai Tak Hospital will become the largest medical hub in Hong Kong in terms of bed capacity and total floor area, with a total floor area of 500,000 square meters and 2,400 beds available.
