Organization: Global PC shipments increased by 3% in the first quarter of 2026.
According to the latest research from Omdia, the total shipments of desktops, laptops, and workstations in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 3.2% year-on-year, reaching 64.8 million units. Among them, laptop shipments increased by a small 2.6% year-on-year to reach 50.8 million units; desktops performed slightly better, increasing by 5.4% year-on-year to reach 14 million units. The growth was mainly driven by manufacturers and channel partners proactively boosting orders to cope with the expected rise in component costs, as well as the ongoing Windows 10 replacement cycle driving enterprise budget updates, and the concentration of Windows OEM and Apple product releases in the spring season.
