The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate jointly issued the "Interpretation on the Application of Law in Handling Criminal Cases of Corruption and Bribery" on April 10th, which will take effect on May 1st, 2026. The new judicial interpretation further clarifies the sentencing standards for crimes of bribery by entities, bribery by entities, etc., improves the rules for determining acts of soliciting bribes, introducing bribes, and misappropriating public funds, perfects the rules for authenticating specific assets and determining prices, and refines the rules for determining the amount of bribes expected to be received, and lawfully increases the punishment for new forms of hidden corruption.
